Finally, new kite is in! I’m voting we name the kite “Tangerine”……any takers? Jeff, Michelle, Cathy and PBM all went offshore to try it out! Here’s a few shots from the day. Big fun in 8-9knot winds
Resident Main Sail Operator (and Superhuman) Cathy proudly representin’ Hot Ticket! The first known European appearance of “Hot Ticket” as this reporter knows of. We miss you Cathy and hope you are having the most amazing trip of your life! WE miss sailing with you and hope to see you soon. – Jeff B and Team!
Jeff, Yuri and Tom all made it up bring and early last Sunday for the quick motor up the coast to Long Beach. Great wind early in the day and scattered rain showers made it a really exciting morning as we all anticipated a really wild race. We made it up in about 2:15 so had plenty of time to crusise around LB Harbor and the future starting line. The race started on time with great winds at 12knots. Hot Ticket was in the A fleet with the 4th start.
The race started with a mediocre start but was all good as we rounded a few of the bohemith oil tankers anchored in the harbor to the best wind of the day. 15 knots and the rain started coming down. This was gonna be a huge day! And then the wind died and everyone in the fleet floated around for 20 minutes just trying to clear the harbor. It was wild, crazy wind all day then just flat as a pancake when we get started. Eventually the wind picked up and out the harbor we went. Launched a kite with just about every mistake that could be made, it was a complete disaster (psycho bowman must have lost his marbles in a wrong way today!) but we re-rigged everything and got rolling. Luckily another class A boat 2.7 Seconds blew the Spinnacer Portion of the race even worse and with great trimming by Yuri in the Pit, Hot Ticket was back in the race.
Hot Ticket was fast today folks. We just pointed and rand the coast for the next few hours. The highlight of the race was match racing to the finish with the faster 2.7 Seconds. We held them off for about 25 minutes as we raced to the finish. We were having a blast but from the looks of the faces on 2.7 Seconds, they were enjoying it less than we were. Jeff was just steering us right in front of them the whole way while Yuri / Tom trimmed and eased accordingly. The Match Race ended with 2.7 Seconds yelling over to us and questioning why were were Match Racing them when we would correct over them anyhow. The answer from the Hot Ticket Team was a resounding:
BECAUSE THIS IS SAILING AND FUN AS HELL! Final Race Results for the A Fleet are below. Pendragon II won overall and were just flying in their 49 feet of aging brilliance on this beautiful Sunday. Hot ticket took the cake with having the best time for sure!

Most recent sailing was on March 12 whereTeam Hot Ticket competed in the BYC ’66’ Series Race #1. Random Leg in the ocean that turned out to be 17 miles of good times for the crew. The Crew worked in unison all day and were all happy by some pretty clean sailing all around. Finishing up the Race we had a pod of dolphins bring us in to the line which was a great ending to a phenominal overall day of sailing. Incidnetally, I wanted to note, Coors light and Cherry Coke Zero are the preferred beverages of Team Hot Ticket. Both were enjoyed fully throughout the day, Cheers!
